Hi, the reception has been really good. Great sales & responses both online and at gigs, but I guess the best review I’ve ever had came from the magazine Metal Discovery. It’s a long article but I’ll highlight a few of the great things he said:

“…Bottom-line, I might as well already declare this as release of the year for 2018. While I've already awarded top marks to a small number of other albums, 'Demon, I' is on a whole new level. I'm certain that nothing will better this. Absolutely fucking phenomenal!...”
If you want to read the full review you can find it on the Reviews Page. At the end of the day I’m really pleased as I’ve only just come back on the music scene again.
The inspiration behind Demon, I, is my anger. I have become a very angry person and don’t suffer fools gladly. I’ve been in the Industry now for 30 years. 30 hard fucking years of work and most of it within a female-hostile environment within the music industry. Things are slowly changing but to be honest, I don’t think fast enough, hence my anger. I am no longer the girl I was when I began my music career. I have been around the block a few times and I’m still listening to the same shit that I was hearing when I started. The massive gender imbalance, STILL, exists across the major music festivals. Women still create under a glass ceiling. One thing has changed – and that would be that women are no longer frightened. I am now 47 years old, I have no children, I am perimenopausal and I have now reached an age where women like me slip off the life radar, unless I fight to keep looking young, through surgery and pseudo-holistic life fads. It’s been mentioned to me that ‘because of my age’ I might want to take things ‘a little easy – or maybe stop what I’m doing’. FUCK OFF! Men have no age limits in music! Where is the female Mick Jagger?
Why should women be treated like this?! I mean, think about it. It’s not the ridicule or some of the public’s reaction – Sir Mick rightly takes this in his stride. There is criticism towards the aging male rockers but yet they continue to have a career. No. It’s the faceless, industry boys club that makes the Stones’ continued success possible. The public never got a chance to continue to support some ageing girl band because such a band, once they crawled through the sexism to get recognised, would have been dropped by their label, shunned by the promoters and ignored by the press for becoming ‘irrelevant’ – i.e. getting older. Well, you’ll be pleased to know that I have decided to grow old ‘disgracefully’. My aging, sagging flesh will still dance to the tunes of Music & Sex. Even if society hates the thought of that! Wakey, Wakey world! KROW is ‘coming’. And I’m fucking ANGRY!
When I write, I often start off by holing myself up in my writing shed (it is literally a shed). Here I can fully immerse myself and I can give the music my full attention. Everything I do is at 140bpm and I will generally start the writing process using stock loops. A bit like using Lego building blocks. Sometimes I can work for hours on end but when I’m not sure about something I’ll have a few days off from the writing process. It makes me fresher and more on the ball when I come back to it. Once I have a working format and a tune for the song, I’ll then work with my Producer – Bad Dog. At this point we’ll add some fat, dirty analogue sounds, hooks and fun effects. I like to work from the point of view that there are no rules in my music. A harp loop CAN go beautifully with an over distorted guitar loop! Sometimes, the shit we try can get pretty freaky but that’s the fun of it! You should never limit creativity!
When I’m writing and recording, my main aim is to have fun! If I’m getting bogged down then I need to fuck off and change my head. I never take emotional shit that does not relate to the song subject into the studio because it will affect the outcome of my work. I also write for myself. I never take emotional shit that does not relate to the song subject into the studio because it will affect the outcome of my work. I also write for myself. I’m not trying to write a hit, I’m trying to write something heavy, busy and engaging. I love industrial sounds but at the same time strings over the top can really do it for me! It’s about the groove.
I do characterize my sound as Punk-EDM. In the music industry everything has a genre and it was really difficult to place KROW & The Electric Temple into any of the genres. That’s why we came up with Punk-EDM. I think at the end of the day it best describes us. The EDM part is obvious – Electronic Dance Music. Punk was chosen because I gu
Punk was chosen because I guess, spiritually, I am a Punk. I am anti-authoritary, I have a really ‘do-it-yourself’ ethic. I don’t conform to societal pressures and when I’m pissed off I generally take direct action. All part of the Punk ethos. Another important aspect of Punk was creating explicitly outward identities of sexuality. So, everything supposed to be hidden was brought to the front. I think you could say I fit into that one too!
My main influences are: Prodigy; Knife Party; Dave Angel and Underworld. My concerts are, loud, fast moving and aggressive. I think you could attribute that to my influences as well. I watched Underworld at the Biggest Weekend Festival… Fucking ‘MIND BLOWN!’ They are so sure footed, nimble and true to themselves. I can only hope to be that good!
Do you have any plans to tour and play some shows? Where can fans expect you?
I’ll be taking a break and then resurfacing late autumn. We’ve got some great stuff in the pipeline. It’s hard to keep it under my hat sometimes! What’s next for you now that the EP is out? I’m currently working on another few tracks so I guess I’ll be back in the studio again sometime this year, recording a new EP. I don’t like to push the process though so when they’re ready, they’re ready! I really like to take time to make sure that there is NOTHING on the tracks that will annoy me later when listening back to them. After 30 years in the Industry I should at least be able to do that for myself!
What are some goals that you have for yourself? Is there anything you’d like to accomplish?
WORLD DOMINATION! That’s the only thing left for me to do. Things I’d like to accomplish – I have already done. I am a high achiever and find it hard to chill out. Even meditation is work if you think about it?! Another thing I noticed the other day KROW backwards is WORK! It’s everywhere if you want to see it. I won’t be happy until everybody is jumping up and down to my beats and singing my tunes.
Is there anything else you’d like to tell your fans?
To my fans I would say “live life to the full!” You’re born and then you die! To those thinking of becoming fans… Fantastic! I can’t wait to see you in the crowd, BUT, if you need safe words… safe spaces in your life: jog on; I’m not the band you should be into! I am probably bad for your heath and your relationship!
